It's Official...
After years of saving and complaining, my parents have finally gotten to buy a house... In The Dalles... Where I'll spend Christmas Break... Alone... With no friends... 'Cos you all live closer to oh, Hood River... I guess it's an ok house, it's gunna get painted in spring and I have to paint my room this weekend but other than that, I'm not excited. I'm tired of moving, if I had it my way I would just like, get married and be mostly done with moving for the rest of my life...
there's more where that came from...
But I digress... (Even if it's not the right thing to say right now...) If/When I go over this weekend I'll snag some general pictures for you... It's a fixer-upper, sorta. I mean it's all approved by the bank and stuff it's just that it needs new paint and carpets and linoleum and fridge, not a big deal. In other news, now that I have a desktop, I may end up, eventually, getting some sort of thing set up and actually have an official place to show off my handiwork...
In OTHER news, there's a lunar eclipse tonight... Full starts at like, 7:45 and ends at like, 8:45, not bad... The next one is in 2007... Pray for clear skies tonight!
...enough already!

Two Things
1. I need a good monitor, something I can call mine, preferably not a box type as I have one borrowed on my desk right now and I have no more desk space left... (I also need to give back the one I've got right now 'cos it's the CS departments loan to me.)
2. I'm seriously being pulled to change my major and be a PSYC major and then do the Masters of Teaching, pray for clarification and also an easy switch if that's what happens, also for the money and the support I need 'cos my parents are like, um, we're poor...
Anyway, if you can help in either way, it'd be nice...

YAY!
YAY! My parents, though in the process of buying a house, put in some of the hard saved/earned money they have to buy me computer parts... We all went down to Fry's last night and Pieter discussed the finer points of computers with my computer unsavvy father. We missed out on one sweet deal of a beautiful case because they didn't have anymore but it was a lovely black thing with silver buttons and just BEAUTIFUL but they didn't have any so I got a beige one that's alright for the same price, whoo hoo for spray paint!!
Can't remember the motherboard but it's an something 2800+, I think, nVidia chipset, built in audio (2 in, 2 out, a place for another of either I think, and a mic plug), 6 USB plug ins more on that when I remember it all. CPU is an AMD Sempron (I was on a budget, sorry!). 512 megs of RAM, 200 GB hard drive, this thing hauls at games, I love it. Um, what else... It's actually, for $509.93 before rebates, a decent computer and I really like it, still need a monitor but we borrowed one when we put it together so that's not an issue. Anyway, I almost wish I could bring that home on the weekends but I can't, oh well, it's still in the shop, so to speak, because we have to run final installs and partitions and what not but... All in all, I'm very grateful and thankful that they would do this for me when they don't have the money, but my dad's ok with it because he couldn't get a machine like this cheaper at Wal*Mart, ok so those have monitors, but oh well!
there's more where that came from...

*sigh*
So I got the box to send my chassis back, it's freaking HUGE. Two, my name is NOT Mark Allen!! Oh well. So they're going to "fix" the chassis, I'm pretty sure they're just going to say scrap it and give her a new one, but whatever. Gr, I'm home for the three-day weekend, joy. Anyway, if you've talked to me recently in depth you know my current state of mind/being/whatever, two people in particular I know of know what I'm talking about. Anyhow, I'm off to wait for people or something 'cos I'm not knowing what to do... :-S

Technology
Gr, so my laptop is in it's final days, or so it seems.
The backlight is out most of the time, the lid doesn't close or open right, the battery is dead in 7 minutes at full charge, and the power cord won't stay in the back. I talked to Gateway today and they said, it's not worth trading up AND they won't or can't give me a new chassis even though I'm still under warranty, they want me to send it in, which I can't do right now... I need to call and TALK to someone, growl. I just may have to invest in a desktop sooner than I thought... Which sucks...
