I should be sleeping after spending a weekend not sleeping very well due to a baby sleeping in a hotel room that he's not used to, but that's ok!
there's more where that came from...
So, I just found out that a friend of mine from Fox who got married lost his wife back in February. I don't know the details but from what I gather she had cancer and died at the beginning of February. Wish I had known sooner.
I need $600 to get the laptop of my meager dreams. I _need_ a new laptop, this one is going poopy and I can't get it fixed 'cos Gateway doesn't make this model anymore and it's not under warranty and they've never _really_ fixed it in the past anyway! The power cord connection is losing it's hold and so if I move the laptop in a certain way, it falls out enough that it turns off my computer. Anyone have a laptop that they don't use that runs that they'd be willing to trade for photography services? I need people to buy my pictures but darned if I can get someone to do it... Help!!
So, we went in on the 28th to be induced. Apparently, on the way there I went into labor but I didn't know it 'cos I couldn't feel the contractions. They started me on a pitocin drip around 9 (we were an hour early, I wasn't suppose to be there till 9:30 am). Sat around forever and they eventually took me off the drip so I could walk around. Around 5 pm they broke my water and around 11 pm I FINALLY gave in and got the epidural (which hurt WAY less than the IV's!) because I needed sleep and my body needed to ignore the pain (which wasn't that bad honestly). Around 1 am the epi stopped working and so they had to call the guy that gave me the epi so he could up the meds and fix it. After getting some sleep I was up at 8, awake anyway since I couldn't feel my legs, and the dr came in to check and I hadn't made a lot of progress but I was getting there slowly. Around 10 am my body decided it was ready, so after over 30 hours of labor we were finally ready to get the kiddo out!! Pushing for almost 4 hours is tiring!! Xavier kept pushing on my ribs with his feet everytime there was a contraction so everytime I had to take a breath it hurt like crazy! He ended up just barely stuck so they had to help him out with the vacuum thingy. The assisting dr thought he would only be a 6 pounder or so but he was off, after we got him out they weighed him and he was 9 pounds!! I pushed out 9 pounds of baby!! I'm not a big girl, everyone was suprised!
