Manky's Friend: Sara

Sara and I have quite a history together... and as the years progress so does that history. According to some, it all began long ago (in a galaxy far, far away... oops wrong story, or maybe not!) when we were just babies. We both went to Grandma Clee's (babysitter). I continued there for quite some time, while Sara's turn was brief and fleeting.
K105
Fast forward: It's middle school, Mrs. Mitchell's home room to be exact. Somehow Sara and I become inseparable. Literally living together, moving back and forth from house to house: her mom's, then my dad's, on to her dad's, next my mom's, then it's start all over again. We spent the night together at least every weekend and sometimes spilling over into the week if we could finazzle it out of our parents.
We'd freak over the New Kids On The Block: cutting out pictures in magazines, watching videos, listening to tapes until they wore out. Amazingly enough, we also did homework. In fact once, we were the only ones in our Social Studies class who finished our reports on time. Even though our study session was interrupted approximately every 40 minutes when the song "Step By Step" came around again. We would jump out of our seats and "step" (more like stomping) all around her mother's house to the music. It was a riot (and an obviously good study break!)
One of our other pastimes was the local Friday night radio show, where we won tons of stuff! For the 4th of July they announced a contest for tickets to a concert. The object was to best represent/advertise K105 at Jackson Park on the 4th. So, we stayed up real late creating our get-up. We dressed up like a stereo (hooked together) with K105 written across our faces. It was interesting, especially trying to work together enough to walk around that steep park without tearing the stereo apart. Needless to say, we won the tickets!
