Manky’s Friend: KTK

Katy Sue Killins is best known as "Katy K" or even better... "KTK" by everyone at the Contenders youth group at The Dalles Neighborhood 4Square. She is a leader and activities coordinator for Contenders.
I met Katy on a big ol' bus. We were on our way to the raddest youth convention ever known to man, Summit '94. I knew that there were 41 people on that bus and we had a 20 hour trip ahead of us... so I was determined that I had 1/2 an hour to get to know every single person individually. That was my stepping stone to meeting new and exciting people on that trip. I didn't really meet Katy on the bus. I met Darren Williams (her boyfriend @ the time) and we clicked really well.
When we went to the mall to eat lunch the very first day I saw them sitting (Katy, and Chris Ingram) near to where my youth group sat (we were 2 youth groups together on the trip.) I was invited to sit with them and so I did. Somehow we ended up being left by my youth group, so we just went around shopping for awhile (Katy and I, while the guys played video games.)
In the end we spent the whole week together... almost inseparable. That was the beginning of what looks to be an everlasting friendship.

Something you should know about Katy K is that she is awesomely blessed with the talent of writing: poems, short stories, songs... you name it. I had originally planned on posting some of her work here... you never know, I still might!
