This week's questions, courtesy of Lesa:
- What kind(s) of music do you listen to regularly? Does it change at all depending on your mood or the moods of those around you (like playing upbeat music as a motivator)?
Most everything is christian, in one way/shape or another. I also enjoy gool ol' showtunes and the occasional soundtrack! I can go back and forth from heavier stuff to kid's music!
Do you listen to the radio (NPR and other talk radio, too, not just music stations) or CDs/audiobooks more while in the car? What do you consider to be good "driving music"? Any particular bands, songs or albums that seem to make long trips go faster? I've always got my playlist spinning. If I'm in Pdx I'll hit the fish, but around here the radio station sucks!
As for driving music... I've had my share of faves I've always meant to make an album out of (need to get a burner, ¿huh?!): "Since I Met You", "Silly Song Remix Medley", and "Pressing On" just to name a few...
there's more where that came from...
- Anymore, a lot of concert performances sound close to their professionally recorded conterparts. Do you thing this is true to some extent? Why or why not? Which do you prefer - live music or recorded music? Why?
I can agree with that, somewhat. I love to see/hear people play live. It proves to me they are real musicians, and it gives me an insight into their true heart for that matter. Don't get me wrong, I like a nicely cut album all mastered, produced, and stuff... something as close to perfection as you can get so you know what the true intentions of the writing were as well! Do I always contradict myself?
- With the abundance of music available to download, and the tools to make CDs on your own, how often do you actually buy CDs? Is there any artist or group that you prefer buying their CDs instead of downloading/burning a copy? What was the last CD you bought?
*singing* "If I only had a burner". I've certainly downloaded and ripped cds in my day, but nothing compares to owning an actual authorized release version of an album. My downloads were for hard to finds, out of prints, guilty pleasures, and testing waters... It had been quite a while since I'd bought a cd (due to economical difficulties) but lately I've been in a whirlwind. You can see what I've gotten at Thriller on my old school brown Fischer-Price tape deck!
Bonus - I'm a definite "music junkie", and always like finding and listening to new music. So, any good song recommendations? "Sleep" has been running through my head all week! It's so fun!
...enough already!
