i kissed dating goodbye... [Hump Day #20]
For simple conversation sake... to get a bit off my chest... for the mere pleasure of seeing my thoughts typed out into words... I'm going to go ahead and participate in this week's Hump Day collab, even though we all know dating has never been (nor will it ever be) a part of my life.
Now, Levi & Joel portrayed a hysterical version of myself "dating" at my birthday a while back. They were all playing "Amancay Charades" (thanx Megan!) and roasting me every chance they got. Mentions of "Hot Butt" got thrown around, as were many techy terms, and other odd idiosyncrasies they've noticed throughout the years.
Anywho, without terribly further ado...
there's more where that came from...
If Amancay Was On A Date..
- Your date is an hour late, even after you were running 30 minutes late getting ready. Do you wait for your date to show up or do you go out with your friends?
First off, I would not be running even a half hour late... I'd go without whatever was lacking at that point. In fact, I'd probably be twiddling my thumbs the whole time waiting.
Going with the notion that I would only be heading out with someone I'd known prior... I'd stick it out, just for impact sake. Make sure they know that their actions were completely inappropriate and/or they better have a dang good excuse/reasoning. Plus, I'm super-available... no excuse for not calling me to let me know you're running late, somethign came up, etc.
However, I would not run off and do something else. For the pure principle of the matter.
- Your friend has invited you to go on a double date with her, fixing you up with her date's friend. When you finally meet your date, you realize that s/he's hot & your friend does, too. The entire night, your friend is hitting on your date. What do you do?
Group date/night out with friends. #1) She ought to know better, as should I were I in her shoes... #2) I make it a habit to be sure everyone is included when a group is out... start up convos with someone who's being shy/left-out, etc. #3) a group thing is non-exclusive in my book, and hopefully not for super-hooking up either. It's for getting to know people better, having fun as a whole... unless you're dealing with pre-made couples (already dating/courting) then this shouldn't be an issue either...
am I making any sense?
- You agree to go on a blind date. You tell your date to wear a red (flower). When you arrive the restaurant, you see 3 single-seated people wearing red flowers. One person is wearing a red rose, the other - a red carnation, & the last is wearing a red tulip. Which one is your date?
Not gonna happen... I would have discussed specifically what kind of flower... and I'd probalby be the one waiting with it, not having to do the seeking out of the other!
- Your date is not going so well. S/He's been constantly on the cell phone, yelling at the waiter, picking their teeth, & talking about him/herself most of the night. When do you end the date & how?
*calmly* "Wow, I really better get going... thank you for dinner!" *politely leaves*
...enough already!

oh happy day! [Hump Day #16]
On this Happy Hump Day, Alexis wants to know:
- Do you believe in any spiritually divine being (God, Budha, etc.)? Why or why not?
I believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit: The Trinity. Because at this point I recognize that I am not 'all that', and only through the grace of God am I anything more than [what some like to refer to as] a slimebag!
- Why did you begin keeping an on-line journal/blog?
Wow... back in the day, I seriously had no clue others were doing so. Taking the idea of an agenda (in Argentina agendas are used to commemorate fun events, days, etc. Using artsy fartsy type lettering, drawings, doodles, or cut & paste of items...) and running with it in an online fashion. I had become enthralled with personal pages... had my own, and wanted to kick it up a notch, so to speak. So Manky's WebAgenda was born... and has since then evolved to be lily of the valley... and is now even more bloggy than before what with the tight implementation of mt!
there's more where that came from...
- Do you let people in your real life know about your blog? Why or why not?
Oh yeah... I beg, plead, grovel... but they don't come. And if they do, they linger... silently *ominous ooos in the background scare the wits out of me*
- What subjects will never be discussed in your blog and why? If there aren't any, explain that.
the crevices in my tonsils, puking, crushes, rants... oh wait! I've already divulged most of those... So, I guess your answer would be "none that I've come across so far!" I think of this as my actual journal... and if people have issues with what I write... they can choose not to read it! (Wasn't I just saying I wanted people to read? Are you confused yet? good!)
...enough already!
