This is just further proof the God has His Hand in the whole gettin' me into the right DSLR. First off, I was informed on Monday evening that'll I'll be quasi-inhereting my step-fathers Canon A1 SLR, and it's accompanying lenses. Now, I know, thye've changed their mounting since then. But I can certainly handle a work around, in exchange for insta-access to perfectly acceptable lenses! In fact I've tracked down a couple different adapter options already [one from Photo Adapter, another by Adorama.
Meanwhile, I'm in super-saving mode... and welcoming any and all donations (cash, paypal, amazon, personal checks, side work, whatever!) that can get me towards the necessary goal of insane amounts of money to cover: the basic 40D body, my own copy of Aperture (as the one I had access to has since been zapped out of my life!), an external hard drive, my timer-control remote, and eventual lenses: macro & zoom!
I know, it seems like a lot! But I have to trust that it's attainable, within my reach, and totally where I'm being led... I've been running in this direction seemingly for over a year now. And everyday it seems to get closer & further away all at the same time. In His timing, in His timing... but I can't wait, I'm oozing with excitement and gratitude that things are developing as they are currently, wow!
Oh, I almost forgot! I got contacted today about a design firm wanting to buy a framed copy of one of my shots! How you like them apples!?
I could come up with so many things to do with a nice loan this summer. First & foremost, I'd nab myself up the camera I've been longing for: a Canon 30D, along with the lenses I've come to love (a macro, and an IS zoom!) That way I can better capture/document all the fun ahead of me! Heck, while I'm at it... I might as well snap up the backpack & remote that are also a must have for my set-up!
We all know I'm not one to usually look into personal loans, but a girl an dream about setting up shop for her own summer photography [ad]venture, right? Next thing I'd do is book some flight/s to hit up a certain wedding in Georgia (in August), long-missed friends & family in the southern hemisphere, and possibly even random new flickr friends around the bend...
Being able to really invest into the endeavor, I'd like to look into the possibilities of capturing shots for sale (think magazines, newspapers, and other publishing possibilities) and acquiring work for hire... allowing me to quickly pay back any secured loans, as well as support a striving business!
*sigh* such are the dreams in my head at the moment, aside from the obvious/practical matter of paying off my silly medical debt! *looking at finger*
Check it out! Some lucky couple will be getting a payperpost wedding. If I had a with whom to wed, who understood the greatness of sponsorship & freebies to create the best wedding ever, I'd be all over this! Unfortunately the time frame doesn't fit my five+ year future gazing!

I love weddings... maybe I could get PPP to pay for my ticket to Vegas for the wedding... and I could offer my mad photography skills! (Maybe I'm just scraping for some way to participate!?)
