this is what made Creation for me, right here... the people we got the opportunity to work with!
the rest of the event/excursion may have had it's ups & downs... but these folks, their awesome attitude, fun prescence, and sincere smiles, could wash it all away in one fun-filled afternoon... even as we had to say good-bye!

so I've been meaning to share about the wonderfully awesome weekend we had up at Lost Lake with ALF at Family Camp... alas life has continued to be full and overly abundant. So for now I shall leave you with an optimal excerpt from an email I just sent off to miss liz
there's more where that came from...
family camp was way fun... had a bit of a run in with the rain and had to have an hour long "powwow" to decide whether *begins singing the newly discovered "Schoolhouse Polka" from Sumo of the Opera* or not to stay, or pack up and over it all down to ALF. We stayed "hooray!" and had a wonderful while!
Played scrabble twice (because some people love me despite my crazy competitiveness and insane ability to just max out the pointage) and won both times as usual... once was extra spectacularly impressive as I laid down "marinas" at the same time adding to my already amazing "overjoy" [making "overjoys"] using all my tiles and scoring a nice 101 points in a single turn!
I also discovered the wonder and joy of 'banana boats' mmmm,
scrumpdiddliumptious! give new meaning to campfire food.
obviously looking forward to another weekend of fun times and family camps!
...enough already!

so... after an amazing weekend (the first one I've had in months where I wasn't all stressed out and/or busy moving, prepping, or being out of the country...) just all relaxed and enjoying great company, I get to look forward to a couple more where such fun is sure to be replicated.
there's more where that came from...
this weekend is ALF's Family Camp at Lost Lake; next weekend is Shepard's Family Camp at Camp Morrow.
Being rather closely tied to both of these fellowships, despite congregating elsewhere, I'm excited to be able to participate dually. God's Body is bigger than each individual church... at least that's how I've always understood it! I'm always greatly blessed by the fact that can oft gather as a fun group of friends and be representative of at least 4 different congregations...
plus! who can pass up opportunities for actual camping when you haven't been for years!
...enough already!
