I don't have a land line at home... so my best option (other than the standard cell phone service) is to try out the spiffy Broadband Phone Service available, thanks to progress in technology!
ViaTalk is currently offering a free 6 month trial, doesn't get much better than that, so now's the time to get on board! (must check availability in my area...) They're normal service (6 month freebie aside) is only $16 a month: incredibly more cost-effective than a local landline, that's for sure! Plus you get the long-distance included in there vs. simple local access.
I'm thinking perhaps I should look into getting a proper headset & mic aparatus. I've been wanting one for better podcast/recording capabilities, and maybe even broadening my dictation options. Factor in some vast Broadband Phone Services & I see no reason to keep pushing away the inevitable purchase (well, I guess there is the whole monetary thing... but God is good, right?)
I really want to get back into the swing of calling my friends & family in Argentina. Strangely enough they don't seem to be the email & IM type of folks... so I've lost some major communication with them over the last few years without income & land line options. (Who wants to use a cell phone for international calls? ...baaaaaad idea!)
