I really just need to declare & reaffirm this... for myself, for Him, and for anyone who attempts [in vain] to say otherwise!
there's more where that came from...I am a virtuous & capable wife. I am more precious the rubies. My husband can trust me, & I will greatly enrich his life. I bring him good, not harm, all the days of my life.I am thrifty & resourceful
and create beautiful works.
I am like a merchant's ship,
bringing my food from afar.
I rise early to prepare breakfast for my household
& plan the day's work...I go to inspect a field & buy it;
with my earning I plant a vineyard.
I am energetic & strong,
a hard worker.
I make sure my dealings are profitable;
my lamp burns late into the night.My hands are busyspinning thread,
my fingers twisting fiber.
I extend a helping hand to the poor
and open my arms to the needy.
I have no fear of winter for my home,
for everyone has warm clothes.I make my own bedspreads.
I dress in fine linen & purple gowns.
My husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with other civic leaders.
I make belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchantsI am clothed with strength & dignity,
& I laugh without fear of the future.
When I speak, my words are wise,
& I give instructions with kindness.
I carefully watch everything in my household
and suffer nothing from laziness.My children stand and bless me.
My husband praises me:
"There are many virtuous & capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!"Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but I fear the Lord & will be greatly praised.
I will be rewarded for all I have done.
My deeds publicly declare my praise.
- Proverbs 31
