in the home[s] of missionaries
Wearing red tennis shoes & jeans while preaching? That was the least of it with Gary. An awesome man of God, a great teacher, and mostly a lover of souls... But, to the shock, dismay, and excellent foder of the masses, he had a hookah on display in his living room.
there's more where that came from...
It was beautiful, really... a gift from missionaries? Intricate & delicate in design, it gave a very outside-the-box touch to the ambiance! Perfect fit for the fun-loving eclecticness he embodies! ...enough already!

dish me up!
I did it... in time for sweeps/the fall line-up; I got myself all [ready to be] hooked-up with dish[network] again. My landlords might pitch a bit in to have the second reciever upstairs... but due to developments in technology & current promotions, it would be the same deal either way. So I'm looking forward to no more live (let alone antennae) tv, Lost's next season (gotta catch up on dvd first), [same goes for] Gilmore Girls, noggin/the N, Disney, & just being able to plug in to my great escape over the winter!

eyes on the back of your head
If anything could make my mind spin anymore, it would be the thought of raising children in this evolutionary day & age. In mere discussion, Beth & I were recently debating how that might look, where we would draw lines, and how that juxtaposes with our very own upbringings.
Mind you, times... they are a changin'! the whole internet world brings everything to a new level of sad opportunities for unnecessary behavior, scary peoples, and more. Now, we are both big internet advocates, noting it's many pros despite the nagging faults. Yet, at the same time, we are also big on the accountability/involvement factor!
there's more where that came from...
So I decided I would have no qualms installing/utilizing a tracking software (such as SpectorSoft) on any computer in my household. Especially as children grow into more private, developing, pubescent teens! The best option would be to keep the comps in public/shared areas. Although I know that as technology advances, it may very well be "normal" for everyone to have thier own little laptop to digitize their world.
Factoring in the creativity I hope to instill in my children, I pray they can whole-heartedly dive into blogging, podcasting, video creating, editting, & all that should they so choose. But I will be looking to the aide of tracking software as a buffer (sort of like a security camera in a store... checking it randomly, and/or when suspiscion leads!) Mostly concerned about bouts of pornography, unwanted emails, and any other concerning behaviors. I guess my thought is: with everyone being on the same page/knowing what the rules & expectations are, privacy isn't being invaded. My motto has always been, don't go anywhere [online] you wouldn't want your little sister or your grandma to see [you go]. ...enough already!

aesthetics
It has come to my attention that perhaps my site/blog is unappealing to the read eye? or too confusing to follow? counter-intuitive? or I don't know what.
And honestly, I've been struggling with that... for a long time. I look at it, and it makes complete sense to me. In fact, I compare it to other (supposedly fine) blog[s] and see no discrepencies, let alone a way to somehow improve towards the "better" design. Maybe it's just hard because of the great amount of [historical] work I've put into this place. The trial & error of even getting things to jive, to be pleasing to the eye, easy to the read, and artistic & characteristically true all at the same time. Perhaps my pride takes a dive at the mere thought that folks, whose opinion I actually care about, might take issue with these very things/efforts/accomplishments.
there's more where that came from...
So, I've been contemplating a bit of a redesign. Not that I have the time, brain power or even sheer will to do so. But, none the less, the thought has been overly entertained (it's been served hors d'oeuvres, and is currently pleasantly involved with the jester & juggler at its beck & call!) This could come about in two different ways: Completely over the top, I could create a dual site, with your basic mt framework, all posted up in html. Otherwise it's a matter of creating a[nother] skin to fit the apparent mold, and integrate it into the system.
In the end it probably doesn't matter. Readership isn't likely to change. In the end, if you want to read something... if it's important enough to you, you read it.
ex: Andy's blog... love the man, but my biggest pet-peeve in the blogosphere is the black bg with white writing. It's really difficult for me to read, and in fact is a sore trigger for migraines for myself (it plays too harshly with lighting...) But, I read it... it's bookmarked, and I've even played up his link here. He's in college, he's otherwise occupied, and it's one of the ways I can keep up on him, and communicate. Andy's blog; just do it!
If anyone has any ideas, feels lead to design on my behalf, wants to completely tear apart my suggestions... bring it on!
If I only knew where to start I might better be able to tackle the mess. *suddenly feeling like Beth in the midst of the decisions, packing, moving, etc.* ...enough already!

do you have my card?
oddly enough, the only business cards I have in my wallet/purse aren't mine. I'm walkin' around representin' for a friend's childcare & family's realty. Since leaving HelpingHands, I've had little need to carry a card for myself.
Ok, maybe that's a misconception. Perhaps, in fact, I should [have] be[en] carrying around some free business cards, showing off my many talents, work strengths, and pure employability. Wouldn't that be nice? Handing an interviewer "my card" touting how awesome I am. I wonder if it'd get me the job/hire!?
there's more where that came from...
Either that, or I could at least be conjuring up business/interest in my many (possibly marketable) hobbies. You know, the photographer/crochet fiend/webmaster/vocalist in me.
So it's decided, I'm going to prepare & order myself some free business cards, and begin promoting myself. What sort of titling should I use? Any suggestions would be welcome! ...enough already!
