So I finally got to see Dr. Madey again about the finger.
The good news: I don't have to follow-up again for another 2 months!
The bad news: I can still rupture the tendon during that entire time.
So, it's a heckuva long road ahead! PT (he was somehow trying to make sure she knows how to deal with a flexor tendon laceration; they referred me there!?) will be surely intensive. I can start using the actual muscle (hopefully slowly, but surely) now, but no major usage/stress/heavy-lifting. Erg, 2 months! *keeps reminding self that this will mean permanent usage/improvement on what could otherwise result in a 'dead' limb*
The splint stays for another week. Then, it's at least a move to some long sleeved items, again. (hooray for a bit of progress in the wardrobe department!)
As for work, I'll have to continue to baby/limit it; being careful will be the key. I'll also need to be in full 'finding another job' mode as well. *praying* Which, in and of itself gives me the heebies, throw in my current state & I'm awfully weary of the process & prospects. *huge sigh*
Finally, there's the driving... with the splint off, and having gained some strength I'll be hoping to get back behind the wheel more often. *suddenly wondering if that's going to be necessary (already) tomorrow, as perspective rides aren't calling to confirm.*
