wow... we had such amazing amounts of relaxing, enjoyable, all-around fun times this afternoon!
Andy took
a load of pix with his cameraphone to document the event!
Basically, after early service (and for some folks, just rolling out of bed) I hit Safeway got fresh baked bread, deli meat & cheese, fresh tomato (grr @ store bought... but JDM's are still growing!) and lettuce. Flew home, cleaned out my car a bit, made a ginormous sandwich for everyone, packed it up, and went to grab Jonathan & Elizabeth [Nagreen].
We drove down the sweltering gorge, and arrived at the final swimming hole at Meyer State Park. Andy pulled up mere moments after us. We set out the NeatSheet and parked ourselves down into picnic mode: the yummy sandwich, some Hickory BBQ Wavy Lays & sodas (courtesy of Elizabeth), and excellent company...
The heat sunk deep into our bodies as we enjoyed the atmosphere, and eventually/finally we all got into the outlet of the Columbia, among the fishies! Swam around, splashed around, pushed each other around, Jonathan even spun us around... then when we got out, at some more... played a game of Slap (aka Egyptian Rat Screw or Flying Turkey Butts), snapped pictures, and eased into a nice snooze in the blooming sun!
Good stuff!
