so I was in the ER, here in Hood River, saturday evening...
I had literally spent the entirety of the day, lazing about on the couch... no major activity, what-so-ever. Then I hopped in the car, and drove across the river to aide in the assembling of chorizos at Ana & Dardo's house.
However, soon after my arrival, everything went awry. I obviously didn't look up to par, as everyone asked me if I was feeling ok (apparently I was dreadfully pale). Then I got all hot... knowing me, I'm always cold... first sign o trouble.
Dizziness, everish sweating, and nausea soon followed...
Factor in that I'd had sharp pain in my abdomen earlier in the afternoon, on my right side, appendicitis had to be ruled out. So to the hospital we went.
To make an excruciatingly long, drawn out, and now overly repeated story short...
my appendix was/is fine... but I had an absurdly low amount of blood.
ber abnormal. enough that were i older, feebler, something like that, they'd've given me blood then & there!
needless to say, the on call doc was adamant about me being seen/following up monday or tuesday with my regular doc.
so today, by some sort of miracle of God, i got in to see my doc/PA... and I'm now going to be taking iron supplements, and taking some other simple measures to hopefully remedy the problem. She took more blood to test, but suspects that the measures taken today should suffice... if anything is fuzzy or red flaggy, she'll let me know!
*humongoid sigh o' relief*
I seriously about cried from the release of stress once she assured me it should all be fine, and actually gave me a hug!
it's been a pretty intense 36 hours or so since it all went down... it was all I could do yesterday to stay focused on other things...
