I fought waking up this morning... after having stayed at the Taylor's until past 11pm last night, watching return coverage!
Once I convinced myself to get up and out of bed... and soon out the door, I quickly tuned the nearest radio to something that was talking about the results. As I was approached the bridge I had gotten up to date, and decided to call jonathan and keep him on the up and up. This was just at 8am.
there's more where that came from...
"He's not conceding..."
"yeah!?"
"he's insisting every vote be counted... this could take a while... just wanted you to know what was going on... please, be praying!"
"ok, thank you!"
next thing I know, the radio has gone directly from Edward's speech ensuring the masses that "every vote will be counted!" to an abrupt questioning of Kerry's reps as to why he's conceded...
greatly confused I continued listening for a bit, and ended up calling Mrs. Taylor to get perhaps a better scoop.
So, literally as I crossed the bridge this morning (at approximately 8:10am) it all went down: Kerry called up TheMan, conceded, offered his congratulations, and then went on to schedule a speech that I've yet to hear *will be looking for both conceding and acceptance speeches soon online and/or at itunes* for approximately 10am PST.
I, once again, called jonathan with the relieving update... he must surely think I'm massly confused and/or silly!
What has been most interesting was actually being the bearer of this news to my physical therapist who was visibly mourned by the information. I stayed very matter-of-fact, walked her through the impossibilities regarding the provisional votes in Ohio, and towards the conclusion that obviously even the Kerry front had to succumb to... it's weird being in a state that carried Kerry as far as it did... I'm still sort of queasy as to what mass reactions will be! But, PraiseGod
...enough already!
