hooray for random service workers creating compliments from mere comments!
steph got loads of glee from her lunch lady today, while I got precious props from the girl at acre!
there's more where that came from...
I swung by to nab up some peach mate smoothies (go ahead; blink, shake your head, read it again, wonder to great lengths,) praying they'd have some iced mate... or at least someone who'd understand what I was wanting/proposing. Lo and behold the cutesy behind the counter (much to the confusion of her co-worker) followed suit quickly... and soon noted, "Oh, I remember you!" *pause* "I didn't recognize you, you look different... in a good way!"
...enough already!

*couldn't think of apropos janet song... had to go with dolly, promptly hides face in mock shame-ish stuff*
sadness... such is life, shall have to let a sleeping dog lie!?
thanks to melanie for help with this week's questions

*listening to bethany dillon loop*
- What do you do for a living?
I'm a Bilingual Victim Advocate... *raises eyebrows* say that 5 times, fast!
explaining exactly what said title means and entails is a whole different story, one that could take mucho tiempo, if you know what i mean!
- What do you like most about your job?
being able to actually help people... at times knowing that you may very well have just 'saved' someone's life, made an impact, etc.
- What do you like least about your job?
it has it's lulls (which is actually a good thing, if you think about what i work in)... we oft have people who clearly need help, just possibly not the help we can offer, or they don't quite fit into our criteria, funding etc. *growl*... then there are the folk that just seem to grate on you day after day... those can be difficult to deal with, especially when you're already overburdened, in need of a break, and such! *wiping sweat from brow*
- When you have a bad day at work it's usually because _____...
all holy terror breaks loose, the enemy wants to get at me after a great weekend, or co-workers can be human and miscommunication is key to "issues"
- What other career(s) are you interested in?
photography, design, motherhood...
...enough already!

"Because you _know_ that when someone's holding you as close as they can you feel safe..."
true dat!
there's more where that came from...
funny... i, too, have been contemplating this very thought... it's effects on me... etc.
I think we oft forget the actual need human beings have for comfort, touch, and such. I could have melted on the spot when little zaiah came running up after me yesterday morning... desperate... so afraid I was going to leave without hugging him! *super-sigh*
Sometimes you just need a good hold, squeeze, and sustain... *tear*
...enough already!
