*big grin & a sigh* wow, what a wonderful night... a fantabulous way to celebrate/enjoy the Valentine holiday!
who knew a simple urge for formal wear and some old school gentlemanly behavior could turn out so well, un-u:ber-planned/organized & all... I'm pretty convinced we all had spectacular times and created awesome possum memories!
Beth and I couldn't have planned/timed ourselves more perfectly... we were literally "ready" mere minutes before they guys knocked on her door. She was in her mom's closet look for appropriate outerwear [note: it snowed again last night], so I promptly answered the door... I honestly heard not a compliment, simply shrugging it off to, 'ok, it's all good... we've got absolutely no great expectations for the night... get over it, girl!' However, I was quick to note that the moment she emerged from the back of the house she was greeted with a near well poised Tor exclaiming, "Beth you look really nice!" (or something to that extent.)
Filing that away... it later came out in conversation, and I was assured I was indeed equally complimented immediately, and somehow missed it... I trust them, dern missing it though!
Some lack of communication, or crossing of wires, or lump of male testosterone and personal car loving, wreaked havoc upon the chauffeuring plans of all... as I rode with Jonathan for the entirety of the evening I never got a chance to chat with Tor about it all... only hearing/experiencing Jonathan's version of it all. Boy was well prepped! There were two pink envelopes, each bearing our beautiful names, that haunted me each time we got in the car, as he waited until the final drop off back at Beth's to give them to us. A tiny little sticky was on his steering wheel '1 10 11 13' reminding him what tracks to play on a specially (and might I add perfectly) chosen cd for the evening. The car was seemingly cleaned to the tee... detailed? It was awesome.
From what I heard (in our extended debriefing session back at Beth's) Tor's vehicle also ensued much delight and beautiful banter... so all's good!
sadly leaving it at that for now, promising to re-visit the rest of details and great memories, and soon-posting pix of it all, in the u:ber near future... 'cause "oh my shees!" it was good *nodding semi-smugly*
this has been a friends, valentine's entry
