I seriously thought I'd come on yesterday and explain just how disconcerting it is to have a grocery store clerk clue in to the fact you're not running up to par... factoring in the fact said clerk was annie, and well we still don't really know each other all that well, but it's still not the place I'd think I'd get caught!
there's more where that came from...
So, yesterday I was working [hardcore, have been] and stopped in at our local Slaveway to get a client their groceries. Popped in, momentarily, at the Rich-Wimmer home to have a breakdown along the way... but kept on truckin' wiping away all noticeable tears along the way!
Got most shopping done, poked my head in on Annie's aisle as I walked by... even stopped to say hey to miss December and treat myself to a nice ToffeeNut Latte, after all I deserved it at that point!
Latte and semi-smile in hand I grabbed a couple things at the end and tracked down Miss Griffin's checkout stand... I seriously thought I put on my good ol' fashioned amancay flare and got all u:ber excited to see her and stuff... but it must not have been up to snuff! As my groceries were begin put back into my cart to head out she looks me in the eye and asks rather puzzled, "Are you ok!?"
*getting the same flood of tears welling up I felt in that very moment*
All I could respond was a tight lipped, "Not really..."
"Is there anything I can do?" she asked with utmost sincerity, and a bit of futility in her voice due to the circumstances, for sure.
I shrugged, "You can pray" I suggested, and instinctively gave her a hug as we simultaneously said, "Bless you!"
wow...
*shrug* I mean, honestly... I hardly know the girl! Love her to death, and have wanted to get to know here over and over, especially since the family started coming to the Vineyard. I just never expected she'd be there at such a moment. God has perfectly planned timing, and sometimes I feel like I'm just wandering about aimlessly until I bump into a wall, back-up and semi-deviate my path... meanwhile He's there picking me up and placing me right in front of His purpose and hopes for me... *big heavy sigh*
So this afternoon, I glanced at my phone (having expected work to call my cell testing the caller id) and saw I'd missed a call & had a message to boot. *holds down 1 key* "Hi Amancay it's Annie..."
checking to see how my day went, hoping it was better then the one before... etc. ftr: I'm impressed! girl's got rule #1 down!
I called her back, thanked her greatly and broke the news that life is continuing along the path of hardship and destruction, tossing in people that just don't make it any easier. She was graciously encouraging me the whole time, and again offered herself for anything I might need. I would've jumped at a chance to sit and 'coffee', but I had work to finish up with mom, who was on her way to get me...
just thoughts, reflections, and joys, amidst it all
...enough already!
