I just burnt the bejeezees out of my tonuge... somehow it didn't occur to me to still slowly sip and check the temp of my tea. Instead I went for a swig and scalded the entire front half of the top of my tongue, as well as the front of the inside of my mouth (both the roof and bottom) *ouch!*

I tried some cold water (only to flare up aching teeth that need some dental intervention), and now some yogurt... but nothing is really relieving the wound!
*growl* what's next!?
on the other hand I've got a nice new heater in my wall that actually heats out of both sides, so life is looking up!?
eventually I'll have to re-tackle the work I was in the midst of last night. But, for now... I think I'm going back to the MicroGames *tee hee*

so late last night/early this morning we lost power... leaving me having lost a good 3 hours of work I was doing on my computator; no Days @ 2:05, no heat, and I had wisely saved my SP time for such a moment as this.
I spent a good hour tackling some blocks of Wario's MicroGames, to reveal some nifty two-player vs. modes that only left me longing. *succumbing to the pressure* so I played by myself... *sarcastic tone* that was fun! Somehow I don't think I can teach Pacey how to control the button, let alone to purpose of the game. So until we meet again!

anywho, just as I tucked into bed... shivering and trying my hardest to tempt the kitties into bed with me for warmth, the power surged on us again: waves of light and beeping machines lead me to run around turning everything off. I immediately hopped back under the covers and tried to defrost, praying for the power to come back in full force.
I finally dozed off around 3am (my mind just flies/wanders when I'm not completely ready for bed, and have been otherwise shut off from the world for virtually 3 weeks). Just after 5 I awoke to the tv turning itself back on... quickly followed by my fire alarm going off in full force. Semi-freaking out, I couldn't smell smoke (ok, so I can't smell anything), I didn't see anything suspicious. So then I was just ticked that it was malfunctioning. I got up to tackle the task, only to see my wall heater looking more like a stove top: all orange with hot. I turned down/off the thermostat and fanned down the alarm.
I later went to re-attempt the heater at a lower temp, and watching it like a hawk. Unfortunately, this time it was worse: nothing came out of it; no heat, no fan, nada. *shivering growl*
It was only 5:16 at this point, but I got on the phone to my landlord asking where I could conjure a space heater, having gone already 5 hours with no heat in seemingly sub-zero temperatures. He answered soon enough, that my guess is he, too was already awake. I learned that a base board type space heater was available in the garage, got all dressed up to head down there, got it, and came right back up, plugging it in. Not that it did much immediate good... the place was dreadfully cold.
I made myself some hot water on the stove, brewing tea in my travel mug, and hot cider to sip and hold in the moment. The hot cider was soon tepid, if that gives you any idea as to the ambient temperature. I watched the news, and then settled in for a movie, figuring the less remote control use needed the more snuggled in and warm I could get.
Somewhere in the middle of the movie, I got a nice whiff of CatStuff™ (hooray for the nose deciding to work at such an opportune time!) and had to abandon my snuzzle spot to attack the litter box. After 2 weeks of sick, and now another of snow, it's been pushed past it's limits... I've never seen such muck in my life! I got it all out, and took down a gi-hugic bag of basura, only to find I couldn't get in my car for the fresh litter I'd bought. So for the now, they've got a nice bed of newspaper, with a wad of shredded paper on top for texture!?
After the movie I finally got warm enough to get back into a nice deep sleep, where I dreamt of walking through the warm VandeHome™... past the hanging blankets, into an intense pre-teen drauma convo, and then melting into an airport facade with a couple gal pals from argentina present! (you know, the stuff good dreams are made of! *wink*)
ftr: Hood River finally called off school!
As I finish this, my landlord is behind me: diligently installing a new heater. w00t!
