so nearly forever ago [in the whole scheme of this summer and it's many adventures] we were all (3 Vandes, a Judy, Beth, Phronz, Danny, & I) at Shari's, as usual custom can be, after night church... Somewhere along the conversations, note of the fact that Matt & I share a b-day came up, at which time I put my arm through his and pressed my face up against his with giddy 'aren't we cute/the coolest' smile plastered across my face. Immediately Danny walks up to the table from an apparent bathroom break. He nearly stops dead in his tracks. Somehow the mere sight of us in that position sent his mind ablaze and all he could conjure to speak was something along the lines of "Is there something I should know?" or "Mathys, did I miss something?" (I can't remember exactly.) Giggles a plenty were shared... and hence was born the love-fest between Mathys & myself (he is, after all, my sunshine! *wink*)

Ok, so now we revert to today's episode of my life... *big sigh*

We order yummy food... we get yummy food... me *slaps own hand for 'spam talk'* notices there's no avocado/guacamole in my Doug's Beach omelette. I'm clearly put out that they've made err in my food. Mathys stands up, takes my plate in hand, and goes to the front to get all up ons! He barely takes two steps out the door (we're in the back/meeting room so as to accommodate all 7 of us) and I'm greeted by a family bearing the most shocked and amazed faces I've ever seen. They're sighing left & right; nearly beaming their smiles for china-men to see from their little breakfast nooks. "Wow, what a guy!" and other such comments flowed freely...
I was at first quite smirk, *knowing nod, thinking of Vandes* "I've got those boys well trained!"
"He's cute!" Carol jumps in.
I was quick to respond *'You've got to be kidding'/'No way' look* "Yeah... and 16!" [*blatantly points readers to teensy line above today's date, for further clarification*]
What came next, nearly made me fall out of my chair: "That's ok!" she says, as if to condone such behavior "You just have to wait a couple years"
If I had had food in front of me, or anywhere near my mouth... we all know what would have happened... *more sighing*
There was no convincing this woman [who quickly dominated the crowd]otherwise, even after he came back in she was all *addressing him* "but you two are so cute together!?"

Mathys was no help. He was actually admittedly on the verge of saying something like, 'Yeah, we've been going out for months! She hasn't told you!?' *sends semi-evil looks his way*

So basically... it's official! They've taken pictures. She'll probably send them to all our extended family and even as many friends as she can before I steal the negatives in the night... *shakes head*

*wavering, nervous voice* "... I love you Mathys!" *innocent smile™*

*suddenly inspired to do a bit more blogging*
