Same Thing, Different Names

1. Kleenex or tissue? mostly kleenex... even though it's a brand name distinction we've mainstreamed

2. Soda or pop (or tonic or whatever)? I've started to say soda... but really, around here it's usually pop.

3. A sandwich on a long roll: sub or hero (or hoagie or grinder, etc)? people call them something other than "sandwich"?

4. Glasses or spectacles? glasses *best Arnold Drummond spanish voice-over* "��No pegar�as un hombre con vasos!?"

5. TV or television (or boob-tube, or telly, for our friends across the pond)? tv (crudely: the boob tube)

6. Movie or film? movie or flick

7. Sofa or couch? easy intermingled... couch more often than not, although I do like to throw in davenport every now and then, in honor o' my grandma [to kick things up a notch].

8. Stove or range? stove

9. Remote control or clicker? We went over this with Nich last night. It's a remote, no need for control, simply remote. A clicker is one of those long necked lighters used for gas stoves, bbqs, etc.

10. Supermarket or grocery store? the store. In Argentina it's "el Super" if you go to a large one...
