Same Thing, Different Names
there's more where that came from...
- Kleenex or tissue?
mostly kleenex... even though it's a brand name distinction we've mainstreamed
- Soda or pop (or tonic or whatever)?
I've started to say soda... but really, around here it's usually pop.
- A sandwich on a long roll: sub or hero (or hoagie or grinder, etc)?
people call them something other than "sandwich"?
- Glasses or spectacles?
glasses *best Arnold Drummond spanish voice-over* "No pegaras un hombre con vasos!?"
- TV or television (or boob-tube, or telly, for our friends across the pond)?
tv (crudely: the boob tube)
- Movie or film?
movie or flick
- Sofa or couch?
easy intermingled... couch more often than not, although I do like to throw in davenport every now and then, in honor o' my grandma [to kick things up a notch].
- Stove or range?
stove
- Remote control or clicker?
We went over this with Nich last night. It's a remote, no need for control, simply remote. A clicker is one of those long necked lighters used for gas stoves, bbqs, etc.
- Supermarket or grocery store?
the store. In Argentina it's "el Super" if you go to a large one...
...enough already!

Since we have been urged to step out into that unknown dimension, out of our comfort zones, and into people's lives... I want to be sure I have somewhere to track such information and continue to pray for these people we touch (or who touch us.)
So I'm re-instigating use of the forum, especially the prayer area, as a place to safely share the info needed to continue to pray for each other and circumstances we become aware and/or a part of!
there's more where that came from...
I had my first "divine appointment" this morning as I walked out of Harvey's [had to stop and get an Amp to get through the rest of the day]. Clay, I believe, instigated communication with me as I walked by towards my car. I was immediately drawn in to see what he was up to: what's his story? I asked if I could pray for the situations and that's about all she wrote, except that he was greatly appreciative and got a beautiful smile upon his face when I finished.
As I drove away I began to kick myself for not having my BookCrossing copy of Jesus Freaks in the car to be able to pass along to him... now I know to be more well prepared!
...enough already!
