Rachel is in town for xmas... and Josh decided to drop into town as well (it's been years!) So we sat and talked a smidge with Linda & Randy, then went to The Crazy Pepper for some nutrition.
As usual, Rache is all about the "going out" part (something I try to avoid as I merely find it unamusing) But I figured since Josh was coming in I'd give it a whirl to get a chance to spend some time with him (and her since she now lives across the continent.)
I had the tomatillo soup (still can't make it like them no matter how hard I try) without the chicken. Everyone else stuck close to the appetizer-ish/a la carte menus and began to drink...
After The Crazy Pepper we went down to River City. En route Rachel began to insist that I stick around for one drink. What cracks me up is that earlier, at the dinner table, she was giving me crap for it being unhealthy to fast for so long...yet now she was practically holding my mouth open and pouring a shot down my throat 'cause, "alcohol is different!"
Drinks began, I stuck to my limit [1], and we settled in for a couple rounds of pool (Josh and I vs. Rache & Haley, w/Jackie jumping in for them when needed). We lost both times by default (first I scratched, then Josh did), but I had some good fun.
Granted that is definitely not my seen, it was interesting for me to actually see Josh with mine own eyes. To watch his mind spin, see him laugh, and mostly recognize his sweet soul and demeanor. Perhaps I'm over analyzing, but I really was impressed at how peaceful, open-minded, encouraging, and dapper the boy really is. [Man is tall!]
