Good To The Last Monkey.
I miss my tuesday collabs... I've been so busy... but now that it's turkey time, I have the next few days off!
there's more where that came from...
- Stuffing: baked inside the turkey, or separately?
mmm *drool dribbles out of mouth* I know that it's safer to do them separately, but there's nothing like direct turkey juice to yummify your stuffing!
- Fresh or frozen turkey?
I try to avoid feathers... freezers are our friends
- Cranberry sauce: jellied or whole berry?
neither, although my mom is obsessed with cranberries in general [year-round]
- Stay home or visit friends/relatives?
family
- Do you cook Thanksgiving dinner, or let someone else do it?
*sits up, proud* I can make a mean green-bean/cream of mushroom/crunchy onion casserole
- Traditional turkey dinner, or an alternative (such as vegetarian)?
I don't think To-furkey could do it for me... in the famous words of Sara Moore, "That was the best dead bird I've ever eaten!"
- Regular potatoes or sweet potatoes?
mmm *drool continues* tatoes... I like both: regular with butter and/or gravy, sweet with butter and/possibly salt (none of that marshmallows and extra sugar crap!)
- Homemade gravy, or the jarred stuff?
straight from the turkey juice, baby!
- What part of the turkey do you prefer...dark or white meat?
dark (like my men?)
- After dinner: football or Christmas movies?
games!
...enough already!

Attention all [1993] Subaru [Impreza] owners! If for some reason you find, one day, that suddenly, out of nowhere, your "lights" won't turn off... you've turned the car off, you've made sure it's in park, you've even removed the keys from the ignition, as a final measure you go so far as to manually switch the lights to off as well (even though these steps were never needed before.) Still, your efforts are to no avail; the side lights, the license plate lights, and the rear non-brake lights are still shining bright (or dim depending on how long it's taken you to become aware of the problem)...
there's more where that came from...
Perhaps it's the stupid "parking lights" switch (on top of the base of the steering wheel) that you flipped while doing an irregular wipe-down of the dust accumulating in your interior.
This afternoon I stopped by mom's to gather Girl Scout stuff, and surf for some more digital camera info (anyone have huge yeas or nays re: the Sony Mavica 400?) As I left, heading to Girl Scouts, I found that the aforementioned lights were still on. Confused, I promptly bopped myself on the head and figured I'd left the car actually on.
I quickly reached my arm inside the vehicle, only to find that I had it clearly in the off position. I checked to see that it started ok, and proceeded to futz around hoping to absolve the issue... Unsuccessful I resigned to leaving the "stupid" lights on during my Girl Scouts meeting.
After the troop dispersed, I went straight to "the guys" to let them figure [or pray] it out. Once I finally roused them to the outdoors, they spoke virtually simultaneously. Caleb said, "Pop the hood."
While Tor said, "Let me see the manual."
Needless to say, I obliged on both counts. Exactly what Caleb was looking for, I couldn't tell you *loud guffaw* Meanwhile Tor had discovered that our answer should lie somewhere between pages 3 and 10... yet said pages had nothing to do with the pages at hand. All three heads hovered over this tiny manual, Tor insisted that the index stated it was on "3 thru 10"
Miraculously, Caleb received the gift of interpretation and figured out that it was "section 3, page 10" (as my mom said: like the Bible)
In a mumbled speed read I quickly saw the answer jumping towards me... in an excited giggling gallop, I ran (did I just contradict myself?) back to the car and checked my discovered remedy.
"Hooray for boys!" I yelled, hugs all around... and I was off to meet the extended family for dinner!
...enough already!
