staying on the road less traveled
wow... a good two hours later and I haven't done anything but continue to read all throughout solo en bici. From his newsletters, to his info and inspirations... I'm still not through with the vast scrapbook of photos! I can only try and encourage you all to give it a closer look, an open mind, and a lot of time!

tales from afar
While chatting with family friends (my dad's highschool classmate,) I found out about bike it solo: an amazing story/fete a young man accomplished all on his own (aside from God's strong hand.) One can't help but be inspired by his bravery, faith, and determination! Heck, I can't even ride a bike...

I think I can! *repeat ad nauseam*
wee!
funny thing is: I seriously wanted to be a lawyer all through growing up!
I found out how to make my butt long entries (or lists of silly quizes) expand/collapse as opposed to always sending you to the archives! Enjoy!
there's more where that came from...
I better head over to my dad's (he's got an old friend from his school days [in Bariloche, I think] coming over with husband, kids, et al!) and spruce up my castellano (I hate it when I start saying/pronouncing things utterly mexican-y! Grrr... ¡soy argentina!)... or no one will even recognize lily of the valley with all the changes I'm discovering I want to make! ...enough already!

isn't today the 10th? [saturday scruples august 9, 2002]
this whole "day of the week" collab things is cool and all, if I could stay on top of it... and they didn't confuse me with funny dates and stuff! *grr-y tone* Errr...
So who out there is as a fan of Scruples as I? Any game worthy to be mentioned at a funeral is good in my book! (more on that later, ask if you need to know)
saturday scruples:
- In a "must win football game, your coach tells you to target the rival quarterback's recent knee injury. Do you obey?
depends on what "target the injury" means. If it's "go at it and make it worse" no, if it's "know your opponent's weeknesses" yes.
- Your cool new look gets you nowhere because your best friend looks like trailer trash. Do you avoid being seen with him/her?
no, First off, when's the last time I got such a knock-out new look that it was worhty of butt attention? Second, friends are friends forever *starts swaying as old-school Michael W. Smith overcomes her*, and I pride myself on being one that's true blue!
- When a young waitress leans forward to wipe tables, you have a magnificent view not meant for you. Do you keep looking?
um, no! I'm a girl... even if I were a boy, my mottos are "Avert your eyes!" & "Keep your clothes on, boy [substitute: 'girl' as need be]!"

what? it's not friday!? [the friday five august 9, 2002]
better late than never, right? I admit that last week I wasn't all gung ho for some reason, the 5 just didn't tickle my fancy... so I skipped (don't tell the principle on me!) But his week is neat-o speedo *yuck image popped into mind*, scratch that rhyme, um... cool!
So, without further ado, I present to you a saturday edition of the friday 5:
there's more where that came from...
- Do you have a car? If so, what kind of car is it?
Yes sir-ee Bob! A 1993 Subaru Impreza AWD.
- Do you drive very often?
I got it in 1998 with under 50k on it... wish I could say it was still in that kind of condition. However, I ride that thing like there's no tomorrow. What with long-distance business trips last year, running people around at work, life in general, and events like Creation... I'm always on the go!
- What's your dream car?
A New VW Beetle Turbo: manual transmission, diesel engine, heated seats, bud vase, etc, etc, etc... but I don't care what color I buy (try explaining that to a salesman... believe me, I've tried,) because I'll have it repainted in a lilac/lavander/purpley tone with sparkles! I've driven one... and they're the bomb incarnate!
- Have you ever received a ticket?
*straight faced for at least 5 seconds* I don't know what you're talking about!
- Have you ever been in an accident?
aside from a couple trees in my parents lawn & driveway, the rear end of Bob & Peggy's car, and another random parked car... No! ...enough already!

this has been a dream-building, friday 5 entry
updates all around
JJ is actually in the ICU. Don't fret, they just wanted to make sure thay could observe him often enough to know if he needed to go into surgery. At this point that is highly unlikely, so hopefully he'll be into a real room for the rest of the weekend. Meanwhile, his spirits are amazingly up! Aside from the fact that there's not a whole lotta convo, since breathing is still difficult due to the pain. I left my dvd player with LOTR and the Matrix (we tried all the finaggling we could muster. Alas, he's stuck with the tiny screen 'cause the hospital's a/v equipment isn't up to par!)
On the Tar-Tar front, she's left us all a message o' farewell-ness on her upsaid/sundried site. I hope this isn't really g'bye... I mean, where's my hug!? *sigh of relief* She did say she'd be at Danno's bon voyage... so she better!
there's more where that came from...
I did really get my calendars to look how I wanted them, after a butt long time @ the Rich-Wimmer's last night (they're camping, woo hoo for free reign o' super-fast net connection)! Yet, as can be expected from my constant train of blog-thought, I'm going to be going in again and futsing even more!
I'm still in the process of completing my friday 5 entry... and look forward to a new collab from saturday scruples!
My superchic(k) cd [karaoke superstars] showed up in the mail yesterday... I didn't expect it for quite sometime since they were waiting on my boggle game to send them out together. Yay for amazon appeasing the customer! Woo Hoo! Everybody sing with me: *singing karaoke superstar style* "all the boys in the band want a valentine from a Barlow girl, boys think they're the bomb cause they remind them of their mom"
There you have it folk, a multi-faceted entry with all the info you were dying to know! Until next time, I know you're at the edge of your seats... but relax! It won't be more than a couple days... I mean hours... ok, I admit it: minutes! ...enough already!
