My arrival time is obviously getting progressively worse. This time my excuse is I was frantically working. Yeah that's right, you heard it here, Amancay does in fact work! We all know work is boring, so let's move on to bigger and better things!
I actually got to spend the afternoon with Tor (I'm going with Tor for ease of typing... I love the full name Torsten, it just makes my job a lot easier on the posting end!) Imagine that! What kind of odds were there I wonder...
We jumped in the car, and hit the road for water. After a few minor confusions (read: pile of rocks indicating road goes no further, followed by complete baffledness on my part) we finally found our destination: my favorite swimming hole. Rowena has this fun little overflow pond/lake like place, where the water's not too shabby. It's tepid (great to the touch on any day) at the surface, and quite chilled as you go out and down further! You can swim all the way across without batting an eye (ok, maybe not everyone) and you can safely hang out and simply tread water... or float with ease, depending on your skills and/or buoyancy.
What was really worth the time was the long needed convo that we got to have. From the aforementioned bouyancy issue, to what God's doing on a daily basis... it was just what The Doctor ordered. Oddly enough, Tor represents a spectrum of God's love I don't often get to experience. He is wonderfully sincere, and definitely has that exhortation gift in high gear! I can't help but feel like I'm looking straight into Jesus' eyes/heart as we talk. Such a blessing to his family and friends, I can only pray that I can reflect God that brightly.
Don't get me wrong... I know God is BIG, and He's much BIGger than Tor could ever be (love ya man!), but I can't help but notice how God works through him! I feel totally refreshed after today... Even with all this work stuff that wouldn't go away tonight, I feel extra-special thanks to the tender-heart of a young man willing to walk the walk!
