Reading though random newsletters that come in at work, I was almost elated to find this in Speaking Up from end abuse:
WA - The King County Sherrif's Office fired deputy David Hick because he is the subject of a domestic violence protection order and therefore is not allowed to carry a gun. The Sherrif's Office says "carrying a gun is essential" to the job, reports USA Today. A former girlfriend recieved the protection order against Hicks after he threatened to kill her when their relationship ended last spring. As part of the Domestic Violence Gun Ban, subjects of domestic violence protection orders are not allowed to purchase or possess firearms.
Not often do you see such explicit justice actually occuring in this field! Especially concerning the police force. Victims don't often feel supported by them!
