30/XI/99 - brief banter

Don't you just love it when a cop turns on his lights and you know you haven't done anything wrong? Yesterday, as I drove home, just that occurred. I caught myself catching up on a cop (oops! I almost slipped up and said "pig"... Not that I disrespect them, it's just a bad [I'll admit that!] habit. Although you must admit: the security guards in RCT have a very pink skin tone and snouty noses... hmmm! Graphic error? or someone's quick humor?) I was only going 70, but I slowed down to 65 as I was still passing them. Just after I completed the pass, and continuing to pass the car in front of the officer's, the car's lights went on. The car in front of the officer was not making any effort to pull over, even after I had my blinker on. So I sped up enough to get in front of the car and then pull to the side. By that time the front car had finally stopped and the cop immediately parked behind it. After observing the situation (the cop quickly pulled out a flashlight and was shining it from his vehicle towards the other, and began to step out... making no sign of pursuit of me instead) I pulled back onto the freeway and made may way home! |
Wow! I just realized I can make a small simple situation into a big bs-ey paragraph. As if anyone even cares, but I find it amusing. What lengths will one go to in order to create something others might ponder reading. Silly really, it's just silly!
Well, last night I never got to go to the dress rehearsal. I spoke with Ed beforehand and he asked that I wait until today to go. When I asked him why, he said that Stig was gonna snap at someone. As if that's never happened before, that's common knowledge that he'll snap at a dress rehearsal. But somehow this time Ed thought it was gonna be something, so I couldn't go.
I still don't know exactly what might have (or even did) happen last night, because Ed never called afterwards. He had said he would and I had even promised to not be on the computer (He had tried to call about four different times Sunday, while I was working on the entry and surfing. He finally had to call my cell phone just to tell me to go to bed... it was pretty late!) around then. In fact, I wasn't online at all last night, so I don't know what happened. He probably forgot. Either that, or he thought it was too late to call... maybe he'd wake me up!
I'm back, and all I have to say is, "Grrrrowlll!"
