Manky's Agenda: October 15th, 1999

| How totally and completely embarrassing! yesterday's entry was a fiasco all in itself. I had every intention of finishing it up with wonderful anecdotes, personal complaints and such... but as you may have noticed, I never did. |
there's more where that came from...
Yesterday I was amazingly busy at work. I then went to watch Canela play volleyball. Why? I'm not to sure, since they lost in approximately 15 minutes. How horrifying, to lose their second game in the match with only 3 people serving (2 from Central Catholic and just 1 from Hood River). I don't know why I make the effort to leave work to watch them. Either I'm a glutton for pure punishment and frustration, or I'm just a sucker for offering support and enthusiasm... I can't quite decide. Got any ideas?
My plans were to go home right after the volleyball game, spruce up the entry a bit, then go to sleep. Minor detail: it was Thursday, which means I have "home group" at VCF with the youth. I was all over some good worship, so I went. Besides, I skipped out last week to go to the football game, I figured I oughta make at least an appearance! Obviously worship was awesome, I needed that break from day-to-day life to just get down and worship God in a big way! We talked some, then when they were breaking into small groups for prayer I made my exit. I was all of a sudden so tired, I wanted to make sure I got home awake!
I got home, set my alarms (I've got a multi system going now... the power has been flickering pretty often, so I'm afraid one might blank out!), removed my clothing, and went to bed. I didn't wake up until 6am this morning. I definitely needed to sleep! It's been a long time since I've gone to bed that early unless I was physically ill. I really ought to make a habit out of it if I can. 4 hours a night just doesn't do the job right!
So that's my explanation for the lame entry, am I forgiven? I certainly hope I can redeem myself somewhere in the near future!
I was hoping to be able to head into Portland this weekend to catch a movie and re-stock my undergarment drawer due to the recent problem I've encountered... but everyone is bust this weekend with the Harvest Festival. I'm not too keen on waltzing around Portland all by myself, too boring! Then again, the more I ponder the situation... I don't even have to go to Portland to get what I want. I can find a much better selection here on-line. I know my favorite brands and what size I am in them. Besides, my friend Carly sent me this place called GreaterGood, where you can shop most any of the on-line merchants and they give a portion of the profits to the charity of your choice. Better yet, when you sign up (whether or not you buy anything) they'll send you a $5 gift certificate for Amazon.com. Plus, for everyone else that you refer to them, they'll give you $2 more for Amazon. So if you're interested in shopping for a good cause, or just the $ at Amazon, check it out! That's where I'm gonna shop this weekend!
Speaking of Carly, she also e-mailed me this week suggesting we organize a mailing list for the HRV Class of 1996. I'm all over that, so if anyone out there is from or knows anyone in my class, please e-mail me with a name and e-mail address, so I can send out the invitations as soon as it's set up! I'm thinking that will be pretty nifty! Especially since the majority of our class is totally scattered all over the place. Take Carly for example, she's already made her way over to the tiny state [Rhode Island]!
Well I feel like surfing, so I'm gonna go now, with absolutely no promises this time. I think I've learned my lesson! Toodles!

I'm ba-ack! I got an e-mail from Carly, and it's all set up. So... HRV class of 1996, you can sign up here, or e-mail to subscribe (Those who have used ONElist before will be subscribed automatically, others will have to reply to a confirmation e-mail)! I'm psyched to hear from some MIAs out there! Hopefully word spreads like chicken pox! Okay, now I'm really leaving! Bye!
